Gutters in Artesia, Sized and Pitched to Carry the Water Away

We install one-piece aluminum gutters and repair the ones you have, with the slope, hangers and downspouts matched to how much water your roof actually sheds. You get an arrival window before we come, and a call from us if weather or materials move the date.

What Working Gutters Do for Your Home

Gutters catch the water leaving the roof edge and carry it to a downspout quickly enough that none of it spills over the front lip. When they fall behind, water drops straight down along the foundation, soaks the fascia board behind the gutter, and splashes back onto stucco and siding. Most of the damage we see starts there, not in the gutter itself.

Gutters usually fail for mechanical reasons. The pitch flattens as hangers loosen, so water pools in the middle run. Sealant at the end caps and miters dries out and cracks. Downspouts are too small, or too few, for the roof area feeding them. We look at all of it before recommending a repair or a new run, because a new gutter hung on rotted fascia or at the wrong slope fails the same way the old one did.

Gutter work also gets planned in sequence with the roof. If you have roof replacement or roof repair coming up, we schedule the gutters so the drip edge and the new gutter line up, instead of hanging gutters twice.

What Our Gutter Work Includes

One-piece aluminum runs

We roll K-style gutter on site from a coil, so each run is a single length from corner to corner. The only joints left are at the miters and end caps, which is where leaks normally start.

Correct size for your roof

Many older homes have 5-inch gutters with 2x3 downspouts. Large roof planes or steep valleys dumping into one corner often need 6-inch gutter and 3x4 downspouts to keep up with a heavy winter storm.

Slope and hidden hangers

We pitch each run about a quarter inch per ten feet toward the outlet and fasten it with screw-in hidden hangers set roughly every two feet. A threaded screw bites into the fascia and stays put, while a driven spike slowly backs out as the wood swells and dries through the seasons.

Fascia and drip edge check

We probe the fascia for soft or rotted wood before anything is hung. We also confirm the drip edge laps into the gutter so roof water can't run behind it.

Downspouts and discharge

Downspouts get placed where the water volume is, then turned away from the foundation with extensions or splash blocks so the water doesn't pool against the slab.

Repairs and resealing

For gutters that are still sound, we clear debris, reset sagging sections, reseal leaking joints and end caps, and replace bent or crushed downspouts.

Signs Your Gutters Need Attention

  • Water spilling over the front

Overflow during a steady rain means the gutter is clogged, undersized, or pitched the wrong way. Each one has a different fix, which is why we check before quoting.

  • Sagging or pulled-away runs

A gutter that dips or leans out from the house has failing hangers or soft fascia behind it. Left alone, the weight of standing water pulls it down further.

  • Drips at corners and joints

Dripping at miters and end caps usually means the sealant has dried and split after years of sun.

  • Peeling paint or stains on the fascia

Dark streaks or blistered paint behind the gutter line show water is getting between the gutter and the board. That's how fascia rot starts.

  • Washed-out soil or puddles at the foundation

Eroded planter beds, splash marks on stucco, or puddles along the slab point to a missing downspout, a short extension, or water bypassing the gutter entirely.

How a Gutter Job Runs

  1. 1

    Free inspection and written estimate

We walk the roof edge, measure each run, check slope with a level, and probe the fascia. You get a free written estimate that lists footage, gutter size, downspout count and any wood repair, so you know the scope before we order material.

  2. 2

A date and an arrival window

We give you a realistic install date and an arrival window for that morning. If rain is in the forecast or a fascia repair needs extra time, we call you ahead and reset the date rather than leaving you waiting.

  3. 3

    Removal and prep

Old gutters and hangers come off, and any rotted fascia is replaced and sealed. We set the slope line along the fascia before the first run goes up.

  4. 4

    Forming and hanging

Our gutter machine forms each run to length in your driveway. We hang it on hidden hangers, seal the miters and end caps, cut in the outlets and attach the downspouts.

  5. 5

    Water test and cleanup

We run water through every run to confirm it drains to the outlet with no standing water or drips. Old material, cut-offs and screws are hauled away before we leave, and most homes are done in a single day.

What Affects the Price of Gutters

Gutter pricing is mostly about footage and access, then about what we find behind the old gutter. Your free written estimate breaks those pieces out line by line. If a roof job is planned too, doing both in one schedule usually saves a separate setup.

Linear footage and stories
Total length of gutter is the base of the price. A second story means taller ladders, more setup time and more care around landscaping.
Gutter and downspout size
Moving from 5-inch to 6-inch gutter, or from 2x3 to 3x4 downspouts, uses more material per foot. The upgrade is worth it only when the roof area calls for it, and we'll tell you if it doesn't.
Corners, outlets and downspouts
Each miter, outlet and downspout adds labor and fittings. A house with many roof breaks costs more than a simple rectangle of the same length.
Fascia condition
Rotted fascia has to be replaced before new gutter can hold a screw. We show you the soft sections in photos before it goes on the estimate.
Roof type at the eave
Tile roofs often overhang the gutter and need the hanger placement adjusted so water lands in the trough. Shingle roofs without proper drip edge may need it added.

Gutter Questions We Hear Often

Something not covered here? (562) 568-5069

Why choose one-piece gutters over sectional ones?

For most homes, the fewer joints the better. Sectional gutters have a joint every 10 feet, and each joint relies on sealant that will eventually dry out and leak. A run formed on site only has joints at the corners and ends, so there are far fewer places for water to escape.

Does it make sense to do new gutters along with a new roof?

Often it does. The old gutters usually have to come off anyway so new drip edge can be installed correctly, and putting tired gutters back up is wasted labor. If yours are still in good shape, we can take them down and rehang them instead, and we'll tell you which way makes sense.

How long does a gutter installation take?

A typical single-story home is finished in one day, and larger or two-story homes may take a little longer. Fascia replacement can add time, which we'll note on the estimate. You'll know the expected duration and arrival window before the day.

Can you just fix a leaking corner instead of replacing everything?

Yes, if the rest of the gutter is sound. We clean the joint down to bare metal, reseal it, and check that the run isn't pitched toward that corner by mistake. If the metal is corroded or the whole run sags, a repair won't last, and we'll explain why.

Do you offer financing for gutters and roof work?

Financing available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval. We can go over it on the phone when we schedule your inspection. We also offer service in English and Spanish.
